This incredibly magical Harry Potter Nursery was designed by our amazingly creative friend Jennifer Ewing. Her background in photography and theater shines through in all of the beautiful details. We LOVE it so much. Words can not explain.
You can see Hogwarts Castle in the corner. That was built out of plywood after several sketches and Jen hand painted and textured all of the stones. It has an upper and lower play area and is finished off with pillows to be a perfect reading nook, and they got a great Mold Removal Matawan service to make sure everything was clean and tidy.
The night stand and dresser were made to look like luggage. (A wizard has to take his things when he boards the Hogwarts Express train for wizardry school!) The dresser started as just an old particle board piece of cheap furniture. Jen painted it, seamed and attached fabric on the drawers to replicate luggage. The hardware was collected from a variety of sources and was primarily made for luggage. It was quite a challenge to screw in all the different pieces. (We found this similar one on cymax.com for the less DIY inclined.)
Thrift store books attached to brackets give the illusion of the famous Harry Potter flying books. The background is library bookshelf wall paper. (Here‘s a similar one.) We love how the wall has a 3D effect!
One of our favorite parts is the picture wall made to mimic the talking portrait gallery halls of Hogwarts. Jen actually took all of these photographs herself. She adorned her family in costumes and Cosplay Wigs so that the pictures would be personalized.
